Infant 5: Mrs Barrett
Welcome to our class!
My name is Mrs Barrett and I am the class teacher for Infant 5. I have taught at Cobbs Brow for 15 years and I am proud to say that this wonderful school was also once my own primary school! I am also the Key Stage One Department Lead. With my warm memories of being a pupil in the infants, I strive to ensure children feel safe, happy and develop a love of learning.
Infant 5 is a mixed Year 1 and 2 class. Miss Durkin is our class TA and we also have Miss Mace and a wonderful trainee teacher supporting the children- we are very fortunate to have so many helpers who are also passionate about caring for our children.
Maths, phonics and English are taught each morning. During our afternoons, we teach science, history, geography, PE, PSHE, music, RE, DT, art and computing. Our children can look forward to some exciting topics this year! In Infant 5, we are especially interested in space and the weather!
In Infant 5, we really believe that making mistakes are a part of learning. We quickly instill in our children that lessons are not about finishing work and ‘getting right answers’ – lessons are about trying our best, not giving up and making progress.
