SHARES
LancashireWHAT IS SHARES LANCASHIRE?
SHARES Lancashire is a leading cluster of primary schools in West Lancashire. The cluster contains 27 primary schools, including faith, community, special and free schools that have formed and operate through a not-for-profit limited company since 2010.
A proud member of SHARES Lancashire is Cobbs Brow Primary School who collaborate with other local schools to enrich the lives of children and families within their locality.
The cluster of schools work together to support each other’s development, ensuring the best quality of education to all pupils that attend our schools. An annual programme of wide ranging CPD provides opportunities for school staff to stay at the forefront of excellent practice in education.
SHARES provides school swimming to Cobbs Brow, ensuring that children are taught to swim and meet the national curriculum standards by the end of year 6. The partnership with Cobbs Brow and SHARES swimming has been hugely successful and is the result of the importance leaders at Cobbs Brow place on this life saving skill.
Cobbs Brow also participates in a great many of the SHARES competitions held locally, giving children the wonderful opportunity to represent their school in a range of sporting and non-sporting activities. These include football, swimming gala, athletics, basketball, netball, dodgeball, public speaking, debating and poetry recitals.
The schools are also proud members of the SHARES Pupil Parliament, which tackle many local issues and work collaboratively with West Lancs Borough Council, and in particular the mayor’s office.
Cobbs Brow also regularly host the Multi-Sport Activity Club ran by SHARES during the school holidays. When not hosting at the school, they signpost the children and families to this subsidised provision. In recent years SHARES have led on the planning and delivery of the Holiday Activities and Food programme in West Lancashire, ensuring that high quality activities and food for children that are in receipt of free school meals, or identified as needing extra support, is delivered locally. Cobbs Brow are a key partner school in this work.
Shares Lancashire also delivers an array of family learning opportunities across the borough, promoting strong family units, the development of skills and pathways to further learning.
This is just a sample of the work that SHARES Lancashire do for their schools and wider communities. To find out more about SHARES Lancashire and our work, call: 01696 729897, email: info@shareslancashire.co.uk or visit our website at: https://shareslancashire.co.uk
