Infant 5: Mrs Barrett

Welcome to Infant 5! In our class we have children in Year 1 and 2. Phonics, Maths and English are taught each morning and the foundation subjects in the afternoon. PE takes place on Monday and Wednesdays.

The children have reading books and weekly spelling lists. We encourage the children to read each night and practise their spellings to support their learning in school. When children need their home readers changing, they choose their new book with me or Miss Shallcross and pass any letters or messages from home. Each week the children will be sent phonics homework. We encourage children to practise these phonic sounds to support their reading and writing skills. Details of homework tasks can be found on our weekly newsletters.
